Mumbai, April 25 (NationPress) In a heartbreaking event in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, 20-year-old Syed Adil Hussain Shah tragically lost his life while bravely trying to save tourists during a terrorist incident. Expressing profound grief over the young man’s sacrifice, Maharashtra's Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has offered financial support of ₹5 lakh to Syed’s family.
The cheque was delivered directly by Shiv Sena workers and officials who traveled to Pahalgam to show their solidarity. During this visit, Shinde connected with Syed’s family through video conferencing, extending heartfelt condolences and support.
Syed Adil, who made his living by giving horse rides to tourists in Pahalgam, exhibited remarkable courage during the attack. As terrorists opened fire, Syed endeavored to protect a tourist riding with him by attempting to disarm a terrorist. He was fatally shot during this confrontation, according to a release from the Deputy CM's office.
Following the attack, numerous tourists from Maharashtra found themselves stranded in the area.
Shinde traveled to Srinagar on April 23 to manage relief efforts. He visited a relief camp close to the airport, met with the stranded tourists, listened to their stories, and provided assistance.
Many tourists praised Syed's courageous actions, which deeply touched Shinde and prompted the quick decision to aid the bereaved family, stated the release.
