Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Pune, Feb 17 (NationPress) Nearly ten months have passed since the tragic Pahalgam terror attack that took her father's life, and Asawari Jagdale expressed her ongoing struggle to secure the government job that was promised to her family by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.
Santosh Jagdale was among seven individuals from Maharashtra who lost their lives in the attack, which resulted in a total of 26 casualties. In response to this tragedy, the Maharashtra government had pledged financial support and government positions for the families of the victims.
During an interview with IANS, Asawari shared her frustration regarding the prolonged delay, noting that her family had to frequently reach out to officials and ministers without any definitive answers.
"It has been ten months since we were promised jobs, yet I have received no updates. I have spoken to various individuals and met several ministers and PAs, but none provided the expected feedback," she stated.
Asawari mentioned that there was a time when the family nearly lost hope. However, she credited the involvement of BJP leader Medha Kulkarni for encouraging them to persist.
"At one point, we were on the verge of giving up. But a friend advised me to reach out to Medha Kulkarni Tai. She guaranteed her support. Recently, she traveled to Delhi, and we communicated over the phone. Subsequently, my mother suggested that we contact Amit Shah ji. She penned a letter to him detailing our situation," Asawari explained.
She also reminisced about the visit of Union Home Minister Amit Shah to Srinagar on April 23, 2025, to honor the victims, which reignited her hope for assistance, although nothing materialized.
The issue only gained prominent attention after Medha Kulkarni shared about it recently, prompting numerous media outlets to reach out to the family.
"Thanks to Medha Tai's post, the media connected with us. Just yesterday, various news channels and newspapers covered our story. This also reached Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, who instructed the Pune municipal authorities to proceed with my job placement," she said.
Asawari expressed her gratitude, saying, "I want to extend my thanks to Shinde ji. With his support, things are finally aligning."
She acknowledged the numerous challenges they faced throughout the process and praised her mother for her unwavering strength.
"The primary challenge was our inability to contact Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, especially with the ongoing elections. I kindly request that he continues to monitor our situation until my job is confirmed," she urged.
Asawari concluded by stating that she has yet to receive the official documentation and is hopeful that the formalities will be completed within the week.
