Mumbai, April 24 (NationPress) The remains of Santosh Jagdale and Kaustubh Ganbote, who were tragically murdered by terrorists in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, were transported to Pune early Thursday morning.

During Jagdale's funeral procession, chants of 'burn down Pakistan' echoed. NCP(SP) president Sharad Pawar visited the families of the victims, offering his condolences.

The Jagdale family, devastated by the heinous act, wept openly. “My life is shattered, I can no longer see my husband,” expressed Jagdale’s wife, Pragati Jagdale, as she voiced her anguish. She demanded justice, urging Pawar that the terrorists responsible should be met with the same fate they inflicted upon her husband and others.

Pragati recounted the horrifying incident, stating, “The terrorists wore masks and there was no security present. Treatment was delayed, and we were kept in the dark about everything.”

She lamented how the terrorists even targeted a horse puller who tried to defend the tourists. “They endanger lives, ruining families. How can I explain to my children that their father is gone?” she asked despairingly.

“I haven’t seen my husband’s face since yesterday. In Kashmir, we couldn’t see him, and now, we still can’t. The terrorists shot him in the head. We demand action. Find those terrorists and kill them. Show us their bodies as proof. They shot our loved ones before their children,” said Pragati, with tears streaming down her face.

“The locals were also heartbroken for us; they recognized that the terrorists attacked innocent tourists. Even the officials were moved to tears. The families of the 26 victims lost everything,” she added.

In another poignant moment, Kaustubh Lele, who lost his cousins Sanjay Lele, Hemant Joshi, and Atul Mone in this tragic attack, criticized the government for failing to ensure the safety of its citizens while making grandiose claims about economic growth.

“Prioritize the safety and security of Indian citizens before boasting about becoming a trillion-dollar economy. Stop the showboating and take real steps to protect the people,” he urged, expressing his sorrow. “This tragedy has left a void in three families that can never be filled. Terrorism continues unchecked; it’s time for decisive action against it,” he concluded.
