Bengaluru, April 22 (NationPress) Pallavi, a tourist who tragically lost her husband Manjunath in a terrorist attack on visitors in Pahalgam, Kashmir, recounted her horrifying experience on Tuesday.

She disclosed that both she and her 18-year-old son faced the terrorist and begged to be killed alongside Manjunath.

However, the assailant reportedly told them he would spare their lives and instructed them to relay the details of the attack to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

During a phone interview with a respected Kannada media outlet, Pallavi shared, "We are currently in Pahalgam, and my husband was murdered right before my eyes. I was in shock and couldn't cry or react -- it was beyond my comprehension. My husband Manjunath, our son Abhijeya, and I had traveled from Karnataka's Shivamogga for this trip."

“I was accompanied by our car driver, a kind individual. He informed me that Hindus were being specifically targeted. Three others who kept saying ‘Bismillah’ assisted us in reaching safety. I want my husband's body to be airlifted home. All three of us should return together," she added.

"I observed that there were three to four attackers. After my husband was murdered, I confronted one of the terrorists and said, 'Mere pati ko mara hai na, mujhe bhi maaro' (You’ve killed my husband, kill me too). My son also confronted him, saying, 'Kutte, mere papa ko maara, humein bhi maar daalo' (You dog, you killed my father, kill us too)," she recounted.

"The terrorist responded, 'Nahin marenge. Tum Modi ko jaake bolo' (I won’t kill you. Go and tell Modi)," Pallavi stated.

Describing the scene further, she continued, "The terrorists were right in front of us. They were not dressed in army uniforms. Almost all the men were targeted. There were many newlywed couples, and in most instances, only the husbands were attacked while women and others were spared. Hindus were the primary targets. Approximately 500 tourists were present at the time."

"We arrived on horseback. My son hadn't eaten anything since morning, so my husband went to fetch him some bread. Initially, we heard gunfire and assumed it was the army. Then chaos erupted and people began to flee. I saw my husband had already collapsed, lying in a pool of blood. He had suffered a gunshot wound to the head. I sat beside his body, paralyzed with shock," she added.

"I wish to return to my hometown, Shivamogga, but not alone. I will only return with my husband's body. We must return together. I urge the authorities to facilitate this arrangement," Pallavi stated.

The family had traveled to Kashmir on April 19 and was scheduled to return on April 24.

Manjunath's family is devastated in Shivamogga.

His mother has yet to be informed about her son’s demise.

She was told that Manjunath was injured but would return safely soon.

Manjunath was a realtor, while his wife Pallavi works as a bank manager.
