Patna, Dec 27 (NationPress) Recent images that emerged online depicting the relocation of items from the official residence of former Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi at 10 Circular Road have sparked a new political uproar in the state.

In a strong response, Janata Dal (United) spokesperson and MLC Neeraj Kumar raised critical concerns regarding the process of vacating the residence and called for stringent oversight by the authorities.

Neeraj Kumar suggested that the bungalow could potentially harbor a concealed basement where significant documents or valuables might be stored, urging for a thorough inspection of the premises.

“Rabri Devi was notified well ahead about the need to vacate the residence. So why the secrecy and emotional attachment? Is there a hidden basement? I suspect some sensitive documents may be concealed, which explains the reluctance to leave the house,” Neeraj Kumar stated.

The JD-U spokesperson emphasized that vacating an official residence is a standard administrative procedure, but insisted that a detailed inventory of state property—including furniture, plants, and other possessions—needs to be compiled.

He questioned whether state property was being transported under the pretext of vacating the bungalow.

“This is public property, acquired with taxpayers' funds. No individual has the authority to remove it from what was once a bastion of corruption,” he alleged.

Addressing RJD leader Lalu Prasad Yadav, Neeraj Kumar urged the family to relocate to their private residences instead of retaining a government property.

“You possess 43 bighas of land in Patna. You can settle wherever you wish. Even 39 Harding Road is allocated in your wife’s name. The government must closely monitor this entire operation,” he added.

Since Thursday evening, numerous small vehicles have reportedly arrived at Rabri Devi’s residence, loading and transporting household items and plants.

As per RJD insiders, the belongings are being gradually moved to a different site.

The visuals of the relocation have provoked a strong response from the JD-U.

After the establishment of the new government in Bihar, the Building Construction Department issued a notice on November 25, 2025, instructing Rabri Devi to vacate the official residence at 10 Circular Road.

While the RJD had previously stated their intention to retain the bungalow, the vacating process appears to be underway, rekindling political tensions between the ruling NDA and the opposition RJD.
