Sonipat, Jan 7 (NationPress) The prestigious 2nd Professor (Dr.) S.R. Bhansali National Award for Excellence in Law has been awarded to Professor (Dr.) C. Raj Kumar, the Founding Vice Chancellor of O.P. Jindal Global University and the Founding Dean of Jindal Global Law School.
This year, the honor has been jointly awarded to Prof. Raj Kumar and Prof. G.S. Bajpai, the Vice Chancellor of National Law University, Delhi.
The award, established by the Family Trust of Professor Sanwat Raj Uchab Kanwar Bhansali Education and Charitable Trust, commemorates the legacy of Prof. (Dr.) S.R. Bhansali, a distinguished legal scholar and educator, recognizing outstanding contributions in the field of law and legal education.
Prof. Kumar and Prof. Bajpai were selected by a distinguished jury of jurists and academics after a thorough evaluation of several candidates. Notable jury members included Justice A.K. Sikri, a former Judge of the Supreme Court of India; Professor Upendra Baxi, a former Vice Chancellor of the University of Delhi; and Professor P.S. Jaswal, Vice Chancellor of SRM University.
Prof. C. Raj Kumar's accolades include his instrumental role in founding the Jindal Global Law School, which has been consistently ranked 1 in India for six consecutive years by the QS World University Rankings Subject Wise. He also established India’s first Constitutional Museum and Rights and Freedoms Academy at O.P. Jindal Global University and has significantly advanced global legal education.
