New Delhi, Aug 16 (NationPress) Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) MP Manoj Jha expressed strong disapproval of the NCERT’s latest module on Partition, which he claims unjustly implicates the Congress party. According to him, this revised narrative does not solely target Congress but also unfairly places blame on Mahatma Gandhi himself.
This criticism follows the NCERT's assertion that Partition resulted from three key figures: Jinnah, who advocated for partition; the Congress, which acquiesced to it; and Mountbatten, who was responsible for executing the partition.
In a conversation with IANS, Manoj Jha remarked, “History cannot be altered based on subjective opinions. There exists a comprehensive context to our past. You are not holding Congress accountable but rather ‘Gandhi.’ Such manipulations will not change history. This approach will only harm future generations. This nation requires healing, yet you remain oblivious to that. Your expertise lies solely in fostering division and hate.”
Furthermore, Jha commented on Congress MP Rahul Gandhi’s upcoming ‘Vote Adhikar Yatra’ beginning in Bihar’s Rohtas district on August 17. The yatra aims to protest alleged discrepancies in the current special intensive revision (SIR) of the electoral rolls in the state.
“Our goal is to safeguard every vote and ensure voter security. The right to vote is fundamental in a democracy. This betrayal will not be accepted,” Jha added.
Additionally, Jha responded to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent announcement regarding ‘next-generation GST reforms’ made during his Independence Day speech on Friday. Modi had indicated a forthcoming “Diwali gift” to citizens, promising reduced tax burdens and an updated GST framework.
Jha expressed, “What the Opposition has been asserting has now been validated. This is a confession from PM Modi, even if he won’t apologize. He acknowledges the operational issues within GST. Although the Opposition highlighted these concerns earlier, you dismissed them. Now you are proposing reforms. Why delay until Diwali? Implement them immediately.”
Moreover, the RJD MP criticized PM Modi for lauding the RSS in his Independence Day address for the first time as the organization nears its centenary.
“For the first time, such rhetoric is heard in an Independence Day address. Where once we had Nehru’s iconic ‘Tryst with Destiny,’ we now hear about intruders and other matters. If they cannot handle infiltrators, then the Union Home Minister should resign. What has the RSS contributed to our Independence, PM Modi? There is a lack of thorough knowledge on WhatsApp,” Jha concluded.
