Ranchi, Nov 12 (NationPress) The Jharkhand Cabinet, presided over by Chief Minister Hemant Soren, has officially scheduled the winter session of the state Assembly to take place from December 5 to December 11.
During this session, a total of 18 proposals addressing various domains such as infrastructure, education, administrative reforms, and social welfare were ratified in the cabinet meeting.
In a media briefing, Cabinet Secretary Vandana Dadel announced that the Cabinet has also endorsed the designation of the native Mangur fish as the state fish of Jharkhand, a strategic decision aimed at enhancing conservation efforts and promoting its commercial production.
Another significant decision made by the Cabinet involves the approval of e-evidence and e-summons model rules intended to streamline the application of three new criminal laws, fostering greater transparency and expediting judicial processes.
To advance science and technology education, the government has resolved to set up STEM labs in all Chief Minister’s Schools of Excellence across the state’s 24 districts.
Among other resolutions, the Cabinet has sanctioned the promotion of 1,315 forest guards from the 3,883 sanctioned posts in the Forest Department to create Head Forest Guard positions.
The Cabinet has also extended benefits of the old pension scheme to the teachers and staff of Netarhat Residential School, Jharkhand’s leading residential institution.
To enhance tourism, a proposal to renovate a hotel in Deoghar into a four-star facility through a public-private partnership (PPP) model at an estimated cost of Rs 113.97 crore was approved.
Additionally, two major road projects received funding: Rs 133 crore for upgrading the Giridih-Jamua Road to two lanes and Rs 29.76 crore for enhancing the Simdega-Kerasai-Odisha Border Road.
Furthermore, Rs 37.27 crore has been allocated from the contingency fund for the Setu Bandhan Project, which focuses on bridge construction and connectivity enhancement.
The Cabinet also approved leasing 147.05 acres of land in Latehar district to a private company for the Chakla Coal Project for a duration of 30 years.
Other decisions included modifications to the service rules of the Police Radio Department and the India Reserve Battalion, as well as the regularization of contract workers under the Polytechnic Education Project.
