Jharkhand has made significant strides in enhancing hockey infrastructure, particularly through the construction of astroturfs from 2014 to 2026. The Hockey India Women’s Sub-Junior National Championship 2026 witnessed substantial participation from Simdega, Jharkhand. The victorious team featured players such as Sandeepa Kumari, Pushpa Manjhi, Preeti Biluung, Regina Kullu, Saniya Tirkey, and Nipunata Kullu, underscoring the district’s vital role in developing grassroots hockey talent.
From 2016 to 2026, Simdega district has consistently produced a wealth of talent for the Indian Women’s Hockey Team at both Senior and Junior levels.
