New Delhi, March 26 (NationPress) – In a significant development, the Special Staff of the Delhi Police apprehended seven juvenile offenders involved in a series of motorcycle thefts and robberies. Authorities also seized three stolen motorcycles from these individuals, as confirmed by police officials on Thursday.

According to the Dwarka police department, these young culprits were implicated in numerous motorcycle thefts and snatchings throughout Dwarka and surrounding regions. Investigative efforts revealed that their motive was to sell the stolen motorcycles to fund a birthday celebration for one of their companions at a hill station.

This case was initiated following an incident on March 15, around 1:50 p.m., involving a complaint from Nikhil (22), a resident of Laxmi Vihar in Mohan Garden. Nikhil was riding his motorcycle with his nephew after refueling when they were accosted by four unidentified individuals on two motorcycles along the Kakrola Ganda Nala service road. The assailants threatened them with a knife, assaulted them, and forcibly took their motorcycle along with ₹2,000 in cash.

In response to the complaint, an FIR (No. 82/26) was lodged under pertinent sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at the Dwarka North police station, prompting a thorough investigation.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Dwarka, Kushal Pal Singh, promptly formed a specialized team led by Inspector Kamlesh Kumar and supervised by the ACP (Operations) of Dwarka.

During the investigation, the team meticulously reviewed CCTV footage from the crime scene and nearby areas. When initial leads did not yield results, they expanded their search, analyzing footage from approximately 500 CCTV cameras over a span of 10 kilometers.

With the assistance of technical surveillance and local intelligence, six juveniles were apprehended first, leading to the recovery of the stolen motorcycles. Following this, another accomplice was detained, resulting in the recovery of one more stolen motorcycle.

Authorities confirmed that three cases have been resolved with these arrests, including one documented at the Dwarka North police station and another at Najafgarh, with three motorcycles of various registration numbers recovered.

Investigations are still ongoing to determine the full scope of the gang’s criminal activities and assess any potential involvement in additional cases.
