New Delhi, April 12 (NationPress) The Delhi Police apprehended two repeat offenders involved in vehicle theft on Saturday, successfully recovering two stolen motorcycles from their possession. This operation was executed by the team from Shastri Park Police Station.
In addition to the two stolen motorcycles, authorities also confiscated another motorcycle that was utilized during the thefts.
Based on reports, two vehicle theft complaints were lodged at Shastri Park Police Station on April 5. Due to the gravity of the incidents, a specialized investigation team was established led by Station House Officer (SHO) Inspector Manjeet Tomar.
The team comprised Sub-Inspector Rocky, Head Constables Amit Malik, Shivraj, Rohit, and Constable Gyan, all working under the guidance of ACP Seelampur Vikramjeet Singh Virk to ensure the prompt recovery of the stolen vehicles.
Employing a combination of technical surveillance and local informants, the police arrested two suspects — Ejaz alias Kallan (24) and Sameer (23), both from Delhi.
During questioning, the suspects admitted to their involvement in the crimes. Following their disclosures, the police retrieved a Hero Super Splendor motorcycle (registration number DL 5 SCE 9910) that was used in the thefts.
At the time of their arrest, authorities seized another stolen Hero Splendor motorcycle (DL 11B 3619) from them. Additionally, parts of another stolen Hero Splendor (DL 5 SBH 1481), which had already been dismantled, were also recovered.
The police believe that the two may be linked to numerous other vehicle theft incidents. Investigations are ongoing, as confirmed by police officials.
Meanwhile, reports indicate that the Delhi police are ramping up efforts to capture gangs engaged in motorcycle theft throughout the city.
In the coming days, more gangs are expected to be dismantled, and further arrests of criminals will take place, according to an official.
