Hyderabad, July 13 (NationPress) K. Kavitha, the President of Telangana Jagruthi and a Member of Legislative Council (MLC) from the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), has called for the arrest of MLC Teenmaar Mallanna due to his offensive remarks directed towards her.
In her meeting with G. Sukhender Reddy, Chairman of the Telangana Legislative Council, Kavitha insisted that Mallanna should be suspended from the House.
She handed over a letter to Sukhender Reddy, requesting that the issue be forwarded to the Ethics Committee for immediate action against Mallanna.
Kavitha expressed her distress over the comments made by the MLC, stating that they have tarnished her reputation and dignity.
This meeting occurred shortly after reports surfaced of an alleged attack on Mallanna's office by Telangana Jagruthi workers in Hyderabad.
During the incident, Mallanna's security personnel reportedly fired shots in the air to disperse the crowd.
Kavitha remarked to reporters that, fueled by Mallanna's derogatory statements, the leaders and workers of Telangana Jagruthi were protesting peacefully, yet they were met with gunfire.
She urged Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy to take action and arrest Mallanna.
Kavitha also announced her intention to approach both the State Women’s Commission and the National Women’s Commission.
Claiming broad support from the public, she warned Mallanna that if he persisted with his offensive remarks, he would find it unsafe to step outside.
In response, Mallanna accused Kavitha and her family of attempting to harm him.
He stated to the media that these attacks would not hinder the Backward Classes movement.
Mallanna has called for Kavitha's disqualification as MLC for allegedly instigating violence against another MLC.
He defended his statements, asserting that he merely used a common phrase in Telangana to question the connection between Kavitha and the Backward Classes movement.
Mallanna expressed no fear regarding the alleged attempt on his life, stating, “I know how to move forward,” and questioned whether the Congress government would act against those responsible for the attack.
Mallanna maintained that he would persist in advocating for the empowerment of Backward Classes.
He reported that a group of 20-30 individuals had assaulted him, with one attempting to seize his gun from the security detail.
Mallanna accused Kavitha of displaying frustration towards her father K. Chandrasekhar Rao and brother K.T. Rama Rao by targeting him.
His controversial remarks were made in the context of mockery towards Kavitha's celebration of the Telangana government's ordinance to increase reservations for backward classes to 42 percent in local bodies.
On March 1, 2025, the Telangana Congress suspended MLC Teenmaar Mallanna, whose real name is Chintapandu Naveen, for alleged anti-party activities.
The party issued him a show cause notice following his act of tearing up the state government's Backward Classes caste survey report and making highly objectionable statements against it and the Congress government.
Mallanna, who operates a YouTube channel called QNews, was elected MLC in a by-election for the Warangal-Nalgonda-Khammam graduate constituency in June 2024 as a Congress candidate.
He has been a vocal critic of former Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao and his family.
Known for his controversial remarks and aggressive rhetoric against political opponents, Mallanna has faced multiple cases during the BRS administration.
