Patna, Jan 30 (NationPress) Congress MP Manoj Kumar Ram from Sasaram in Bihar was injured following an attack by unidentified individuals in Kaimur district on Thursday.
The assault occurred at St. John International School in Nathopur, where the MP was present to mediate a land dispute involving his brother and local residents.
During the negotiation, tensions escalated as the villagers disregarded MP Ram's attempts to resolve the issue. The violence intensified, forcing the MP, along with his security personnel, driver, and two school bus drivers, to flee for safety. Unfortunately, they sustained injuries during the brief confrontation.
The injured were initially treated at a Primary Health Centre in Mohania before being transferred to Sadar Hospital for more comprehensive medical care.
Dr. Manoj Prabhakar, the supervising physician at Mohania PHC, verified that the individuals received immediate treatment before their transfer to Sadar Hospital.
“MP Manoj Kumar Ram suffered a head injury. We have stitched his wounds and referred him along with others for advanced treatment at Sadar Hospital,” Prabhakar reported.
The SDPO of the Mohania range, Pradeep Kumar, confirmed that the altercation was related to the ongoing land dispute.
According to SDPO Kumar, Congress MP Manoj Kumar Ram sustained a head injury, while two bus drivers and other individuals were also injured.
In response to the incident, a significant police presence, including Kaimur SP and DSP, was deployed to the scene to restore order. Security measures have been intensified in the area to avert further incidents.
“We have filed an FIR under pertinent sections of attempt to murder at Kudra police station based on the accounts of Congress MP and other victims. Some suspects have been identified, and we are actively pursuing their apprehension,” Kumar stated.
