Bengaluru, March 3 (NationPress) In light of the current turmoil involving the United States, Israel, and Iran, BJP State President and MLA B.Y. Vijayendra reached out to Kannadigas who are currently stranded in Dubai, offering them reassurance.

He committed to engaging with the Central government to facilitate the prompt return of those trapped in the crisis back to Karnataka. According to team members, a total of 61 individuals had traveled to Dubai to accept an award and are now stuck there.

Among them are five residents from Arsikere, who are residing in a hotel. They expressed their worries, stating, “It has now been seven days. Even the flight scheduled for tonight has been canceled.”

Vijayendra emphasized that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is prioritizing this matter. “In a previous crisis in Ukraine, the Central government acted swiftly to bring back its citizens. This conflict erupted suddenly, and I will liaise with the relevant authorities in Delhi,” he reassured.

He promised to advocate for measures that ensure the team's safe return, saying, “Stay calm. I will urge that appropriate actions be taken to bring everyone back safely.”

Indians, including many Kannadigas, who found themselves stranded in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) due to flight cancellations prompted by the Israel-Iran conflict, are starting to return home, providing relief to families in Karnataka.

Meanwhile, Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru has established a dedicated Help Desk at Terminal 2's kerbside to assist passengers amid ongoing flight operation disruptions.

A flight that took off from Dubai on Monday night landed safely at Kempegowda International Airport in the early hours of Tuesday. Notable arrivals included Karnataka Legislative Council member S.L. Bhojegowda and badminton champion P.V. Sindhu.

During this crisis, the Kannadigas Helpline team, led by non-resident Kannadiga patron Ronald Colaco, has provided support to stranded individuals. The team gathered information from those affected and requested urgent assistance from the government. They also volunteered to cover emergency costs and urged anyone needing medical help to reach out to the helpline. Kannadigas in Dubai, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi, and Ajman were encouraged to seek help.

Several Kannadigas traveling to Abu Dhabi and Dubai for business, personal visits, or work have faced challenges due to the escalating tensions. Many expressed relief after returning safely, while others remain stranded as flights are fully booked.
