Bengaluru, April 26 (NationPress) Karnataka Home Minister G. Parameshwara announced on Saturday that the state government is actively monitoring Pakistani nationals and facilitating their repatriation.

While addressing the media in Bengaluru, Parameshwara stated, "The authorities are currently in the process of identifying Pakistani nationals. We have informed all officers with the rank of Superintendent of Police (SP). All senior officials and responsible authorities in each range have been updated on this matter."

He continued, "The Central government issued an advisory to the state on Friday concerning this issue. Following the advisory, we are taking necessary actions. It appears that they (Central government) have granted exemptions for individuals holding long-term visas."

"For those on tourist visas and other specific categories, we are implementing all required measures to ensure their return. Authorities are already instructing identified Pakistani nationals to depart immediately. We are proceeding in alignment with the Centre's directives," Parameshwara added.

When questioned about the number of Pakistani nationals in Karnataka, he replied, "I do not possess the exact figures, but authorities are monitoring them in every district. The SPs have been briefed, and measures are also being taken in the capital city, Bengaluru. Students from Pakistan will also be repatriated, as the central government has not provided any exemptions for them."

In response to whether there was any exemption for students, he said, "The Centre's advisory did not mention any relaxation."

He further mentioned that a continuous security alert has been in place since the terror attack in Pahalgam. All Director Generals of Police (DGPs) across the country have been notified about the situation. "It is an ongoing process," he remarked.

The Ministry of Home Affairs in the Central government has issued an advisory aimed at identifying and sending back Pakistani nationals.

Within that advisory, they have categorized various visa types, but all Pakistani nationals, regardless of category, have been instructed to leave, he reiterated.

He concluded, "Initially, everyone pointed to an intelligence failure, and I have also made a statement regarding this matter."
