Thiruvananthapuram, Jan 1 (NationPress) The current Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral rolls has garnered significant attention from political entities and the public, with approximately 60,061 claims and objections recorded in Kerala.

On Monday, Kerala's Chief Electoral Officer published a daily update on the Special Intensive Revision (SIR), detailing claims and objections up to December 31, 2025, regarding the draft electoral roll that includes 2,54,42,352 electors.

The window for claims and objections commenced on December 23 and will continue until January 22, 2026.

These submissions were made by recognized political parties via their Booth Level Agents (BLAs).

Among the political organizations that submitted claims were six national parties.

The CPI-M led with 21,246 claims, followed by Congress with 20,278, BJP with 7,249, AAP with 175, Bahujan Samaj Party with 5, and the National People’s Party with 9.

State parties included CPI with 5,120, IUML with 4,289, JD (S) with 27, Kerala Congress with 474, Kerala Congress (M) with 493, and RSP with 596. A total of 405,308 applications were received for name inclusion via Form-6 and Form-6A, while 2,419 applications for name deletion were submitted using Form-7 post the draft electoral roll publication.

Prior to the draft roll's release, 3.59 lakh applications for inclusion and 30,202 applications from overseas voters were collected.

During the same period, 2,419 objections for name deletions were submitted.

After the draft roll was published, an additional 28,529 applications for inclusion and 6,242 overseas elector applications were received directly from voters, along with 37 objections for deletions.

The Election Commission has emphasized that only applications submitted in the prescribed formats will be acknowledged as valid claims or objections, thereby excluding general complaints or representations lacking the necessary documentation.

The claims and objections period will remain available until January 22, after which the final electoral roll will be compiled.
