Dehradoon, Jan 27 (NationPress) Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi convened an important meeting with senior leaders from the Uttarakhand branch of the party in New Delhi on Tuesday.

This gathering is part of the ongoing series of state-level review meetings organized by the Congress leadership to evaluate organizational strength, address local challenges, and devise strategies for upcoming elections.

AICC General Secretary (Organisation) K.C. Venugopal shared insights from the meeting on his X handle, stating, "Conducted a session with the senior Congress leadership from Uttarakhand, under the guidance of INC President Mallikarjun Kharge and Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi ji - continuing our state review meetings."

Alongside photos from the venue at Indira Bhavan in New Delhi, the post emphasized the leadership's hands-on involvement with state operatives. The meeting included notable figures from Uttarakhand Congress, who articulated their perspectives on the party's effectiveness, obstacles in the hill region, and future preparations.

On Monday, the Congress party directed state leaders to hasten the establishment of committees from district to booth levels under the Sangathan Srijan Abhiyan, aimed at reinvigorating the organization following recent challenges.

General Secretary (Organisation) KC Venugopal mentioned in a post that a comprehensive meeting took place at Indira Bhawan with party officials from states where District Congress Committee (DCC) Presidents have been appointed. Party President Mallikarjun Kharge has recently approved observers in six states to oversee this process, which has already led to the appointment of 525 new DCC Presidents across 14 states. This initiative, formally launched in 2025, aims to decentralize decision-making and fortify grassroots structures.

Pradesh Committees have been instructed to finalize district bodies within 15 days, block-level in 30, and booth-level in 60, ensuring representation for SC, ST, OBC, and minorities.
