Hyderabad, July 4 (NationPress) The President of the Congress Party, Mallikarjun Kharge, conducted a review on Friday to assess the progress of the party's mission to strengthen its organization in Telangana and the implementation of critical welfare initiatives by the Congress government in the state.
Accompanying him were K.C. Venugopal, the party’s General Secretary for Organization, and Meenakshi Natrajan, the in-charge for Telangana, who attended the Political Affairs Committee, the Political Advisory Committee, and the Executive Committee meetings of the state Congress unit in Hyderabad.
Venugopal shared on X that their discussions prominently featured the ongoing mission to bolster the Congress organization in Telangana.
He mentioned that a significant number of appointments at the Block, Mandal, and Division levels have already been finalized. The structure at the Mandal level is expected to be completed by July 30, with Gram Panchayat-level committees to follow by August 30, establishing a strong and responsive party framework at the grassroots level.
"We also evaluated the execution of essential welfare initiatives by the Congress Government, including the caste census—a historic move towards equity and justice," noted Venugopal.
He highlighted that the Samvidhan Bachao Abhiyan has been successfully concluded in most districts and assembly segments, with efforts ongoing to extend it to all remaining areas.
Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, state President Mahesh Kumar Goud, along with ministers, MPs, MLAs, and other prominent leaders were present at the meeting.
During his address, the Chief Minister expressed assurance that Congress will continue to govern the state for the next ten years.
He asserted that Telangana has emerged as a model for other states across the nation, emphasizing the achievements in education and employment.
He also stated that the party has succeeded in persuading the Central Government to include a caste census in the general census.
Revanth Reddy revealed that under his previous leadership as state unit president, 45 lakh individuals became active party members.
Numerous leaders from the Youth Congress, NSUI, and district Presidents of the party have been allocated positions in the government.
He urged party leaders to regard their positions seriously, as their recognition and respect stem from their roles within the party. "This will aid your political advancement," he remarked.
The Chief Minister advised that the number of Assembly and Parliament seats is likely to rise in the future.
He mentioned that the delimitation of constituencies, women’s reservation, and simultaneous elections will influence this growth.
Revanth Reddy stated that the 2029 elections should serve as a platform for emerging leadership. "If you aspire to be leaders, begin your hard work now," he urged, encouraging them to visit villages, engage actively in the field, and ensure the effective dissemination of government welfare schemes to the populace.
He called upon party functionaries to collaboratively devise a plan and diligently work from today to secure a second term for Congress.
Revanth Reddy encouraged party leaders to draw inspiration from party chief Kharge, who has long served as a representative of the people.
