Hyderabad, June 30 (NationPress) The President of the All India Congress Committee (AICC), Mallikarjun Kharge, is set to address Congress workers during a significant meeting on July 4, as part of the 'Jai Bapu, Jai Bhim, Jai Samvidhan' initiative.
The President of Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC), Mahesh Kumar Goud, announced on Monday that more than 15,000 grassroots Congress leaders will converge at LB Stadium in Hyderabad for a grand public assembly linked to the 'Jai Bapu, Jai Bhim, Jai Samvidhan' movement.
“We are proud to welcome AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge Ji to motivate our local leaders,” posted the TPCC chief on X.
On the same day, meetings for the Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) and the Political Affairs Committee (PAC) will take place at Gandhi Bhavan, the state Congress headquarters.
“This demonstrates the strength of Congress—from the grassroots to the national level. Let’s unite, organize, and advocate for the Constitution,” added Mahesh Kumar Goud.
During the PCC and PAC gatherings, Kharge is expected to deliberate on the current political landscape alongside the party’s prominent state leaders.
Key attendees will include Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, AICC in-charge Meenakshi Natrajan, TPCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud, state ministers, and senior leaders.
The AICC President will likely assess the Congress government’s performance over the past 18 months and discuss pressing issues such as caste census, increasing reservations for Backward Classes, and the implementation of Scheduled Caste categorization.
The gathering at LB Stadium may signal the commencement of the ruling party’s campaign for the upcoming local body elections.
Recently, the Telangana High Court instructed the government to conduct panchayat elections within three months.
The state government and State Election Commission are anticipated to finalize the election schedule following the determination of reservations for Backward Classes.
The High Court issued directives based on petitions from former sarpanches who raised concerns regarding the prolonged delay in elections. They highlighted that the terms for panchayats ended on January 31, 2024, and the elections have already been postponed by 18 months.
