Patna, Jan 30 (NationPress) Jan Suraaj leader Prashant Kishor on Thursday made a shocking assertion that a fraud exceeding ₹1,000 crore has occurred in the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) recruitment, claiming that examination seats were sold for prices ranging from ₹30 lakhs to ₹1.5 crore.
While addressing a Kisan Mahapanchayat in Arwal, Kishor commented on the current protests by BPSC candidates in Patna, who are advocating for the annulment of the 70th BPSC preliminary exam.
"Since my hunger strike, I have been asserting that the majority of BPSC seats have already been sold. This is a scam of over ₹1,000 crore. Seats have been sold for ₹30 lakh to ₹1.5 crore," Kishor claimed.
He further emphasized that even if the exam is annulled, the impacted candidates will not receive justice, as the seats have been pre-sold.
Kishor’s allegations come amid escalating unrest, with hundreds of BPSC hopefuls blocking Bailey Road in Patna, causing significant traffic disruptions on Thursday.
The protests have led to a heavy police presence near the BPSC office, with authorities detaining some candidates. This issue will also be presented in court on Friday, adding more controversy to the BPSC recruitment process.
Kishor asserted that this is not the first instance of an examination paper being compromised in Bihar.
“This is not the first exam where the paper has been leaked. In most of the exams conducted in recent years, the question papers have been leaked,” he alleged.
Kishor also criticized Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, accusing his administration of neglecting to penalize those responsible for the paper leaks.
“The Nitish Kumar government has not arrested a single individual involved in the paper leak. Instead, they have deployed police force and used lathi-charge on the protesting students,” he said.
