Legal Action Initiated Against Prashant Kishor Amidst BPSC Protests

Patna, Jan 3 (NationPress) The ongoing controversy regarding the BPSC 70th Preliminary examination has escalated into a legal issue, as a formal complaint has been lodged against Prashant Kishor, the Chief of the Jan Suraaj Party, in the court of the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) located in Muzaffarpur, Bihar.

The complainant, Laddu Sahni, a resident of Bheriyahi Soti village under the jurisdiction of the Panapur police station, has accused Kishor of threatening a group of BPSC candidates while he was engaged in his ongoing hunger strike at Gardanibagh in Patna.

This complaint was submitted through advocate Prakash Kumar, referencing several pertinent sections under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

The court is scheduled to hear this case on January 10.

Advocate Prakash Kumar elaborated on the alleged events: "The BPSC candidates were peacefully protesting at Gardanibagh. Prashant Kishor arrived and allegedly misled and intimidated the candidates, prompting us to pursue legal action."

The legal case has been filed under sections 115(2), 61(1), 191(1), 318(4), and 316(2) of the BNS.

Kishor has been on a hunger strike since Thursday evening at Gandhi Maidan, expressing support for BPSC candidates who are demanding the cancellation of the disputed 70th Preliminary examination. His actions have garnered substantial public and political scrutiny, intensifying pressure on the Bihar government.

On the evening of December 30, Kishor and his associates were reportedly accused of threatening BPSC candidates at the protest site in Gardanibagh, Patna.

A viral video has amplified claims that Kishor abandoned the site during police action on December 29, which resulted in injuries to protesters.

BPSC candidates have expressed their disappointment, alleging that Kishor left them during a critical juncture, undermining their trust in his support.

They declined his offer of assistance, pointing out his perceived failures during confrontations with law enforcement.

Kishor allegedly asserted that the candidates had requested blankets, which he provided, but they were now opposing him.

"You (Candidates) have asked for blankets from us, and now you are opposing me," Kishor stated according to the viral video.

The candidates refuted this claim, stating they never solicited his help, and criticized his conduct as a veiled threat linked to his assistance.
