BPSC Aspirants to Rally at the Commission's Office in Patna in Protest

Patna, December 27 (NationPress) The protests by candidates of the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) are gaining momentum, as they prepare for a march towards the BPSC office on Friday.
The candidates, currently conducting a sit-in at Gardanibagh, are demanding the complete cancellation of the examination. The protests have further intensified with the participation of Jan Suraj Party leader Prashant Kishor, who has declared his intent to join the march.
On Thursday, Kishor expressed his strong disapproval of the alleged police brutality against the protesters, vowing to stand in solidarity with the students during the march and warning of direct confrontation with the Chief Minister.
Kishor's impassioned statements included a challenge to the authorities, asserting, "If you possess the courage, then demonstrate it by utilizing lathis."
He further claimed that any forceful suppression of the candidates' demonstrations would have political repercussions, asserting such measures could jeopardize Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's position.
Reiterating the importance of democracy, Kishor stated, "Nitish Kumar is not a monarch; the people of Bihar are the true rulers."
Kishor condemned the violence against the protesting candidates, noting that reports indicate four students are currently hospitalized in the ICU due to injuries from a lathi charge.
"Rather than engaging in discussions with the students regarding their issues, they are being assaulted with lathis. Is this what Nitish Kumar considers a monarchy?" he questioned.
Kishor sharply criticized Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, accusing him of neglecting the students' struggles while residing comfortably in his bungalow. He issued a firm warning that if the students' demands are not met, the focus of the protest will shift from the BPSC office to the Chief Minister's residence.
The unrest is rooted in the BPSC 70th preliminary examination, which students claim was riddled with irregularities. Tensions escalated on December 25, as police clashed with candidates who had gathered near the BPSC office after protesting at Gardanibagh. Many students and coaching operators suffered injuries during the altercation.
