Guwahati, March 26 (NationPress) The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), the reigning champions, paid a visit to the esteemed Maa Kamakhya Temple in Guwahati to seek divine blessings prior to their match against the Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 on Wednesday.

On Wednesday evening, KKR is set to face off against the Rajasthan Royals at Baraspara Stadium in Guwahati.

Last year, the KKR team also visited the temple following their victory in the IPL 2024 season.

Among those present at the temple this morning were Captain Ajinkya Rahane, Vice-Captain Venkatesh Iyer, Head Coach Chandrakant Pandit, and Venky Mysore, the CEO and Managing Director of KKR as well as the CEO of Red Chillies Entertainment Pvt Ltd.

Other players and staff members in attendance included Varun Chakaravarthy, Chetan Sakariya, Ramandeep Singh, and bowling coach Bharat Arun.

KKR began their title defense with a defeat against Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the opening match of IPL 2025 last week.

RCB's innings featured half-centuries from Virat Kohli (59 not out) and Phil Salt (56), allowing them to successfully chase down 175 runs and defeat KKR by seven wickets.

With a new captain, Ajinkya Rahane, KKR is eager to secure their first points by winning their second match against the Rajasthan Royals on Wednesday.

Rahane began the campaign with a score of 56, while Sunil Narine added 44 runs. However, the KKR batting lineup struggled, with Krunal Pandya taking 3 wickets for 29 runs and Josh Hazlewood claiming 2 for 22, limiting KKR to a modest total.
