The initial incident took place in the village of Meghwal Mathiya, located in the Ramnagar block of Bagaha, where Shahabuddin Ansari and Afsar Ansari tragically lost their lives after being struck by lightning during an unexpected thunderstorm.
The victims were seeking refuge under trees in a garden when the lightning hit.
Additionally, three others—Shamim Ansari, Azim Mian, and Dheeraj—sustained severe burn injuries and have been transported to the hospital for urgent care.
The calamity has left the entire village in shock, with families grieving inconsolably and an atmosphere of sorrow enveloping the region.
The second tragedy occurred in Buxar, where four individuals lost their lives and five were critically injured due to separate lightning strikes in the police station areas of Chausa and Rajpur.
In Chausa, lightning struck a group of villagers gathered on the banks of the Ganga River.
The deceased include Mithlesh Ram, 22, Shri Bhagwan alias Jhola Singh, 60, and Virendra Gond, 45.
A head of cattle also perished in the incident.
The injured in Chausa—Neeraj Kumar, 16, Amit Chaudhary, 30, and Sonu Kumar, 18—are currently receiving treatment at Buxar Sadar Hospital.
Chausa police station in-charge Shambhu Bhagat confirmed that three fatalities and three injuries occurred within his jurisdiction alone.
He mentioned that all injured individuals are being provided care at local healthcare facilities.
In the Rajpur area, Ankush Kumar, aged 11, tragically lost his life, while another individual, Anant Ram, is in critical condition.
