Los Angeles, April 5 (NationPress) Actress and singer Lily Allen once sought a role in the popular streaming series 'The White Lotus', featuring stars like Jennifer Coolidge, Alexandra Daddario, and Sydney Sweeney.
The 39-year-old artist, who recently separated from her second husband, 'Stranger Things' actor David Harbour, shared that she tried to secure a part in Mike White's acclaimed anthology series but was not chosen, according to reports from Female First UK.
During a discussion on her podcast 'Miss Me?', co-hosted with her close friend Miquita Oliver, Lily remarked, "I haven't really auditioned for anything lately. I did record a self-tape for 'The White Lotus' and, of course, I didn’t get the part. But I think I’m somewhat apprehensive about self-tapes. Perhaps I would be more inclined to do them now since I feel like people might not care about me as much anymore. In the past, I was uncomfortable with the thought of casting directors having a tape of me that could be shared with others. I no longer worry about that as much; I’m less concerned now."
According to Female First UK, Lily has secured some stage roles and is poised to take on the lead in a fresh adaptation of Ibsen's play 'Hedda', directed by Matthew Dunster.
She expressed, "I did a photoshoot last week for 'Hedda', the upcoming play, and I truly enjoyed it. I'm thrilled about starting rehearsals for this production, and I do hope to receive more chances. I want to be bolder in pursuing auditions and self-tapes because it’s something I enjoy and believe I can excel at.”
Lily humorously added more about her acting goals, saying, "I’m not aiming for the Oscars, but I would love to star in a nice UK detective series.”
