New Delhi, Dec 19 (NationPress) The Sixth session of the 18th Lok Sabha, which began on December 1, wrapped up on Friday, with Speaker Om Birla commending the impressive 111% productivity of the House and the successful passage of eight Bills.
In a message posted on X, Speaker Birla noted that the Parliament session included 15 sittings.
The total hours of sitting amounted to 92 hours and 25 minutes, which featured a notable discussion on the national song "Vande Mataram" that spanned 11 hours and 32 minutes.
Speaker Birla remarked that the productivity during this session reached 111% as 10 government bills were introduced and subsequently passed.
The bills that received approval included: The Viksit Bharat - Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin): VB-G RAM G Bill, 2025; The Manipur Goods and Services Tax (Second Amendment) Bill, 2025; The Central Excise (Amendment) Bill, 2025; The Health Security se National Security Cess Bill, 2025; The Appropriation (No. 4) Bill, 2025; The Repealing and Amending Bill, 2025; The Sabka Bima Sabki Raksha (Amendment of Insurance Laws) Bill, 2025; and The Sustainable Harnessing and Advancement of Nuclear Energy for Transforming India Bill, 2025.
A statement from the Lok Sabha Secretariat indicated that on December 15, following discussions, voting occurred on the Supplementary Demands for Grants – First Batch, 2025–26.
Subsequently, the Appropriation (No. 4) Bill, 2025 was also passed, as stated in the announcement.
On December 8, Prime Minister Narendra Modi initiated a commemorative discussion for the 150th anniversary of the national song "Vande Mataram".
