Bhopal, Dec 18 (NationPress) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav convened an important meeting with senior police leaders, including Director General of Police (DGP) Kailash Makwana, at the Police Headquarters (PHQ) in Bhopal, where he provided essential directives aimed at enhancing law and order in the state.
During the discussions, Chief Minister Yadav commended the state police for their dedication in eradicating Left-Wing Extremism (LWE) from Madhya Pradesh after a long struggle lasting several decades.
Directors General (DGs) and Inspectors General (IGs) of police from various divisions across the state participated in the meeting via a virtual platform.
In his address, CM Yadav emphasized that the state government has formulated development strategies for regions previously impacted by Naxalism over the years.
He instructed law enforcement to ensure that Maoist activities do not make a comeback in Madhya Pradesh.
Subsequently, CM Yadav inaugurated 57 mobile forensic vans, designed to enhance crime scene investigations and evidence collection, thus accelerating investigations and scientific analysis throughout the state.
The total investment for these mobile forensic vans is approximately Rs 36.94 crore, fully funded by the Central government.
Equipped with state-of-the-art forensic tools, these vans will facilitate on-site scientific investigations and evidence gathering.
The vans include stereo microscopes, weighing balances, DSLR cameras, mini refrigerators, LED TV screens, thermal printers, and body-worn cameras.
Additionally, the mobile forensic units are outfitted with specialized investigation kits, which encompass blood and hair identification kits, high-intensity forensic light sources, foot and tire impression kits, arson investigation kits, evidence packing kits, bullet hole examination tools, gunshot residue kits, narcotics detection kits, explosive detection kits, DNA collection kits, and chain-of-custody management equipment.
"This initiative is set to bolster the state's capabilities for crime investigation, evidence preservation, and scientific analysis. It aims to promote forensic-based, accurate, and timely investigations, ensuring more effective law enforcement and enhanced citizen safety across the state," remarked CM Yadav.
