Key Takeaways
Dumka (Jharkhand), March 26 (NationPress) – The atmosphere in Dumka, the sub-capital of Jharkhand, turned tense on Thursday when a madrasa educator was discovered deceased under mysterious circumstances in a hotel room located within the jurisdiction of the Nagar police station, according to authorities.
The individual has been identified as Mohammad Sadiq Hussain Ansari, who resided in Sakrikitta Rampur under the Boarijor police station in the adjacent Godda district. He was working as a teacher at a local madrasa.
As per police reports, Ansari had checked into a hotel close to Dumka’s Dudhani Tower Chowk with a female companion. The unsettling situation was revealed on Thursday morning when hotel personnel notified the police after discovering him unconscious in the room. He was immediately taken to a nearby medical facility, where he was pronounced dead.
The body has been transported to Phulo Jhano Medical College Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
Initial investigations indicate that the deceased and the woman shared a personal relationship. The woman, who was present in the room during the incident, has been detained for questioning.
In her account, she informed the police that Ansari's health unexpectedly declined shortly after they returned to the room following a meal.
She reported that he began to writhe in pain and subsequently became unresponsive. Assuming he had merely fallen asleep, she initially did not sound the alarm but alerted hotel staff when he remained still for an extended period.
Authorities stated that they are exploring every aspect of the case, considering both natural causes and potential foul play. They are currently reviewing CCTV footage from the hotel, and the deceased's family has been notified.
The police officer in charge confirmed that the precise cause of death will be determined only after the post-mortem report is completed.
They are also investigating the circumstances surrounding the woman’s visit to Dumka.
