Ranchi, May 12 (NationPress) A young woman was discovered hanging from a ceiling fan in a hotel room located within the jurisdiction of Sakchi police station in Jamshedpur on Monday, according to police officials.
Authorities are currently examining whether this incident was a case of suicide or if foul play was involved, potentially involving murder and staging of the body.
The victim has been identified as Rukhsana, who resided in Azad Basti, Jamshedpur. Her remains have been sent for a post-mortem examination.
Police have detained two men, a woman, the hotel owner, and the manager for interrogation.
Initial reports indicate a call was made on Monday morning regarding a suspected suicide in room number 506 of Hotel El Dorado situated in the Aam Bagan area.
The Sakchi police along with the City DSP arrived at the scene to initiate an investigation.
Investigations uncovered that the previous night, two rooms—504 and 506—had been booked by a group consisting of two men and two women.
The men have been identified as Rituraj and Pankaj, both residing in Rajendra Nagar under the Sakchi police station jurisdiction. The second woman is from the Mango locality.
Numerous liquor bottles and other questionable items were seized from the room where Rukhsana's body was found.
The detained woman stated she had met Rukhsana via Instagram and was invited to a party. However, none of the three individuals have provided a coherent account of the events leading to Rukhsana's demise.
The City DSP mentioned that the hotel owner and manager, who reportedly assigned rooms without verifying identification, are also being questioned. He assured that the case would be resolved promptly.
In a separate incident, two unidentified young men were discovered murdered near the Balsiring bridge in the Dhurwa police station area of Ranchi late Sunday night, with their throats slit.
Police responded to a tip-off and retrieved the bodies, which were sent to RIMS for post-mortem.
The DSP of Hatia, Pramod Kumar Mishra, stated that the bodies were found a short distance from the main road in a remote area.
No one from the local crowd that gathered on Monday morning was able to identify the victims. Authorities suspect the murders occurred elsewhere and that the bodies were dumped at the scene.
