Lucknow Tragedy: Young Man Admits to Slaying Mother and Four Sisters with Father's Support

Lucknow, Jan 1 (NationPress), In a tragic beginning to the new year, Lucknow Police detained a 24-year-old individual, Arshad, on Wednesday for the suspected murder of his mother and four sisters within a hotel in the city.
The gruesome acts, reportedly executed with the help of his father, have caused widespread alarm throughout the region.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Central, Raveena Tyagi, informed IANS, "We were alerted from the Thana Naka area regarding the discovery of five deceased bodies inside a room at Hotel Sharanjeet. The suspect, Arshad, is now in custody. He has confessed to murdering his mother and four sisters—some by slitting their throats and others by severing their wrist nerves."
The victims have been identified as Alia (9), Alshia (19), Aksa (16), Rahmeen (18), along with their mother, Asma. The horrific murders came to light when hotel personnel notified the authorities after discovering the bodies.
Arshad, who resides in Islam Nagar, Tedi Bagiya, Kuberpur, Agra, reportedly stated during interrogation that the murders were provoked by a familial dispute involving neighbors. As per his confession, the family was initially taken to Ajmer and later brought to Lucknow just a day prior to the killings.
"Arshad has claimed that his father aided in the crime. Nevertheless, the degree of his father's involvement remains under investigation. We have reached out to the Agra Police for further insights," DCP Tyagi elaborated.
The accused detailed that he first killed his mother and subsequently attacked his sisters while they were asleep in the hotel room. A video recording depicts Arshad recounting the crime and revealing that his actions were fueled by long-standing frustrations over family disagreements.
Forensic teams have sealed the crime scene and collected evidence, while senior police officials visited the hotel to supervise the ongoing investigation. The bodies of the victims have been dispatched for post-mortem analysis to establish the cause of death and gain further clarity regarding the case.
"The precise details surrounding the motive and circumstances will be disclosed following extensive investigation and the results of the post-mortem," DCP Tyagi stated.
This horrifying incident has raised significant concerns, with law enforcement striving to unveil the complete scope of the crime and the father's alleged involvement in the murders.
