New Delhi, Oct 1 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi conveyed his heartfelt Mahanavami wishes to the citizens and offered prayers for their well-being and prosperity.
The ninth day of Navratri is observed as Mahanavami, a day dedicated to Goddess Siddhidatri.
In a message posted on X, the Prime Minister stated, "Warm wishes to everyone on the occasion of Mahanavami! May this blessed occasion of Navratri usher in good fortune, prosperity, and success for all; that is my desire."
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also reached out via social media, sharing his greetings.
In a message on X, he expressed, "Sincere congratulations to all devotees, worshippers, and residents of the state on the sacred occasion of 'Mahanavami'!"
"May everyone enjoy a life filled with glory, prosperity, and good health through the blessings of Mother Siddhidatri, the ninth form of the compassionate Mother Durga, and may her grace forever shine upon the entire universe," he added.
Similarly, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami shared his best wishes on this occasion.
"Warm congratulations and best wishes to all on the sacred festival of the ninth day of Navratri, dedicated to the worship of Maa Siddhidatri, the deity presiding over the eight great siddhis (spiritual powers). May the Mother Goddess bestow upon you strength, peace, and progress," he remarked in his post on X.
Siddhidatri translates to 'the one who bestows supernatural powers.' 'Siddhi' refers to supernatural abilities or meditative skills, while 'Dhatri' signifies giver or bestower.
She is revered on the ninth day of Navaratri, known as Navadurga, and fulfills all divine aspirations.
Shiva is also referred to as Ardhanarishwara since one half of his form represents Siddhidatri. According to Vedic texts, he attained all siddhis through the worship of this Goddess.
