Mumbai, April 8 (NationPress) Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis urged the state administration to prioritize the rapid and effective execution of the vision document for Viksit Maharashtra 2047, aiming for Maharashtra not just to be a substantial economy but to emerge as a frontrunner in per capita income.

He noted that the timeframe from 2026 to 2030 is pivotal for both the state and the country, directing all departments to concentrate on accomplishing measurable objectives by 2030.

During a meeting of the Vision Management Regulatory Board convened to evaluate the progress of the 2047 roadmap, CM Fadnavis highlighted that any vision without a robust implementation strategy is merely theoretical.

He announced the establishment of a Vision Management Unit tasked with engaging in thorough discussions with each department, ensuring that targets are distinctly outlined for achievement by 2030.

While more developed districts will capitalize on cutting-edge technology for accelerated growth, the Chief Minister pointed out that the 11 underdeveloped districts possess enormous potential and should become vital contributors to close the gap with the national average.

He emphasized that action plans must follow the Specific, Measurable, and Time-bound (SMT) criteria, aiming for complete target fulfillment within the next four years.

CM Fadnavis clarified that no additional substantial funds would be designated for this vision; rather, initiatives should be executed within the current financial setup.

He encouraged a departure from the “Business as Usual” mindset and instructed departments to actively seek funding from Central Sector and Centrally Sponsored Schemes.

“The state isn't lacking in funds, but is in need of a viable project pipeline,” he remarked.

He noted that projects must be sufficiently prepared to attract investments from sources such as Public-Private Partnerships, the Asian Development Bank, and the World Bank.

Furthermore, he mandated that the effects of any policy be evaluated six months to one year post-announcement.

To promote transparency and accountability, CM Fadnavis instructed that all departments finalize their action plans in collaboration with the Finance Department by April 30. Progress will be monitored through a Dynamic Monitoring Dashboard, with regular assessments to ensure compliance with benchmarks.

During the session, Principal Secretary (Planning) A. Shaila delivered an in-depth presentation on the Mission Document, followed by detailed reports from departments such as Agriculture, Industry, Tourism, Urban Development, Energy, Health, and Education, outlining their respective roadmaps towards achieving the 2047 goal.

The Chief Minister concluded by expressing contentment with the groundwork established thus far and urged all departments to collaborate responsibly to realize the vision of Viksit Maharashtra 2047.
