Key Takeaways
Kolkata, April 2 (NationPress) Odisha's Chief Minister, Mohan Charan Majhi, made a significant appearance in Rampurhat, located in Birbhum district of West Bengal, on Thursday, rallying support for the BJP candidates as he advocated for a much-needed transformation in the state.
He asserted, "Anga has transformed, Kalinga has transformed, and now it’s Bengal’s turn to transform as well."
On this day, four BJP candidates submitted their nominations at the office of the Rampurhat Sub-Divisional Magistrate: Dhruba Saha (Rampurhat), Anil Singh (Nalhati), Nikhil Banerjee (Hansan), and Rinki Ghosh (Murarai).
The Chief Minister's convoy arrived in Rampurhat to express solidarity with the candidates, spending approximately 40 minutes at the Sub-Divisional Magistrate’s office.
Addressing the media afterwards, Majhi remarked, "Citizens have risen against corruption. Just as development has flourished throughout the nation under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, a corruption-free administration will emerge in Bengal too. This time, a double-engine government will be the future of Bengal."
He continued, "Previously, I campaigned in Midnapore, and now I am here in Birbhum. Observing the public enthusiasm, it appears that the lotus will indeed blossom in Bengal this time."
The Odisha Chief Minister also criticized the ruling party in West Bengal for alleged corruption, expressing confidence that voters would opt for change.
"Progress is stalled in Bengal. The populace seeks development and transparent governance. Support for the BJP is rising due to these aspirations," he stated.
Majhi also addressed the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in West Bengal, stressing, "The voter list is being curated as per the Constitution. This process is similarly occurring in Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, and Odisha."
He concluded, "The names of citizens should be included in the voter list. Why should infiltrators’ names be present? Those who are infiltrators will not be part of the voter list, nor will they belong in the country."
