Kolkata, Nov 25 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of West Bengal, Mamata Banerjee, voiced her concerns on Tuesday about the potential for disruption in the state following the release of the draft voters' list on December 9, marking the conclusion of the initial phase of the three-part Special Intensive Revision (SIR).
"Once the draft list is out, I foresee significant disorder. I can sense this already. Due to issues with the internet, the booth-level officers (BLOs) are struggling with the uploads of enumeration forms on the BLO App. There are frequent problems with form submissions. I have been informed that Artificial Intelligence (AI) is being utilized in the SIR process, possibly to substitute authentic voters with fraudulent ones," she stated at a large 'anti-SIR' rally in Bangaon, located in the North 24 Parganas district.
Despite her fears, she committed that the state government would support residents in every feasible way to ensure their names remain on the voters' list.
"We uphold our promises. Our political agenda is focused on public welfare. So, do not be alarmed. You will be protected as long as the Trinamool Congress is in power," she reassured the crowd.
Without explicitly naming him, Chief Minister Banerjee also targeted BJP Lok Sabha member from Bangaon and Union Minister of State, Shantanu Thakur, accusing him of neglecting the Matua community during this critical time, even traveling abroad.
