Patna, July 12 (NationPress) Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi on Saturday directed his criticism towards Chirag Paswan for his comments regarding Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s handling of Bihar's declining law and order, asserting that NDA partners must “adhere to coalition Dharma.”
Manjhi criticized the narrative that blamed the government for the crimes committed by RJD affiliates in Bihar, declaring it unjust.
In a pointed statement, he challenged whether the critics of the government were genuinely practicing the principles of coalition governance.
“It is not appropriate to indulge in jaggery while also avoiding it within the coalition,” Manjhi remarked, indirectly addressing Chirag Paswan, who had earlier denounced the Nitish Kumar administration following a series of industrialist and trader murders in Patna.
The Union MSME Minister asserted that the era of mafia presence at the Chief Minister’s residence ended two decades prior in Bihar.
“Currently, mafias are eliminated in Bihar, and while it’s easy to question law and order, it is crucial to uphold coalition dharma,” Manjhi emphasized.
With the Bihar Assembly elections approaching, Manjhi mentioned that despite crime occurrences, the Bihar Police are diligently acting, apprehending criminals, and ensuring that justice is served.
“It is essential to uphold the alliance's values and thwart the opposition’s plots,” he urged, encouraging NDA allies to unite ahead of the elections.
Manjhi’s comments followed shortly after LJP (Ram Vilas) leader Chirag Paswan's inquiry into the Nitish Kumar government regarding the surge in murders in Bihar, questioning: “How many more murders will Biharis endure? What is the role of the Bihar Police?”
This statement stirred discussions within political factions, raising doubts about the NDA's unity as Bihar Assembly elections loom.
While Manjhi refrained from naming Chirag directly, his remarks indicate a rising strain within the NDA coalition concerning law and order management as the election season escalates.
