New Delhi, April 3 (NationPress) Delhi Minister Kapil Mishra expressed optimism on Friday that the nation would be able to "eliminate Urban Naxals" in a manner akin to how the Central government claims to have largely eradicated Naxalism.

While addressing reporters at the Indraprastha Culture Festival, Mishra commended Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah for their initiatives against the Maoist threat.

This statement follows Shah's recent declaration in the Lok Sabha that India is nearly free from Naxalism.

Mishra noted, "A decade ago, it was hard to envision an end to Naxalism. There were manifestos vowing to establish a 'Red Corridor' from Pashupati to Tirupati and set the nation ablaze."

He underlined that numerous soldiers lost their lives due to the Naxalism crisis.

"However, thanks to the operations led by the Prime Minister and the Home Minister, those who once championed so-called 'fake freedom' have witnessed India reclaim its freedom from Naxalites," asserted the Delhi Minister.

Furthermore, Mishra remarked, "Although some Urban Naxals remain, the current cultural awakening in the country assures that we will also be rid of them."

Regarding the Indraprastha Culture Festival, Mishra stated, "The authentic history of Delhi has been concealed or overlooked for many years. We are engaging in discussions about this as well."

He added, "In addition to historical discourse, topics of art and culture are also being explored. This festival represents a condensed version of India found within Delhi. I extend my gratitude to the Indraprastha Culture Festival, its organizer Sangam Talks, and their entire team for orchestrating this event," he concluded.

Mishra also highlighted the presence of notable historians, writers, artists, and literary figures from across the nation at the gathering.

"It’s a significant three-day event, and I encourage everyone to join us at the India Habitat Centre," he urged.
