New Delhi, Jan 17 (NationPress) Manika Vishwakarma, crowned Miss Universe India 2025 and a former National Cadet Corps (NCC) member, graced the Republic Day Camp-2026 of the Corps, motivating attendees to soar high with determination and national pride, as reported on Saturday.
During her visit, the beauty queen engaged with the cadets, recounting her inspiring transformation from an NCC cadet to the triumphant holder of the Miss Universe India title.
“She emphasized the essential values and skills learned through NCC training—such as discipline, confidence, leadership, and resilience—that were crucial in shaping her character and greatly contributing to her achievements, including winning the esteemed Miss India title,” stated an official from the NCC.
At the same time, cadets from 22 friendly nations have begun joining the NCC’s Republic Day Camp-2026, as mentioned in the statement.
These participants represent their respective NCC or similar youth organizations and will be partaking in the camp for the following two weeks, as per the NCC official’s announcement.
“Throughout their stay, these international cadets will immerse themselves in India's vibrant culture, heritage, traditions, and values, promoting mutual respect, friendship, and global camaraderie,” the statement highlighted on social media.
Previously, Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan visited the Republic Day Camp at Delhi Cantonment to inspire cadets to pursue careers in the Armed Forces and contribute to creating a 'Viksit Bharat'.
In his address to NCC cadets and officers, the CDS stressed the significance of vision and determination for youth, asserting they are the future leaders of a 'Viksit Bharat'.
“Choosing the right path today is vital for reaching the correct destination,” he articulated.
Sharing insights from his own career, the CDS motivated the cadets to enlist in the Armed Forces to help realize a 'Samridhh, Sashakt, Surakshit Bharat' by 2047.
Expressing pride in attending the Republic Day Camp for a fourth consecutive year, he praised the high standards and enthusiasm shown by the cadets, noting an invigorating sense of energy and patriotism each year.
He underscored the importance of January, recognizing it as a month filled with significant events including National Youth Day on January 12, Veteran's Day on January 14, Army Day on January 15, Parakram Diwas on January 23, which honors Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, Republic Day on January 26, which marks the adoption of the Constitution, and Martyr's Day on January 30.
