New Delhi, Jan 13 (NationPress) Young and passionate minds will play an essential role in defining the future of the nation, stated Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) Gen Anil Chauhan during his visit to the National Cadets Corps (NCC) Republic Day Camp 2025 at Delhi Cantonment on Monday.

He reiterated Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision that the youth of India hold the key to the country's future.

The CDS highlighted that the youth constitutes 27 percent of India's total population, underscoring the reality that young and driven individuals will indeed shape the future of the nation.

He also acknowledged the accomplishments of the cadets and their vital contributions to several government and social initiatives, including ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’, ‘Puneet Sagar Abhiyan’, 'Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat' Camps, and their successes in the Mavlankar Shooting Championship.

Gen Anil Chauhan pointed out that January is a month of national importance, marked by significant observances such as Youth Day, Veterans’ Day, Army Day, and Republic Day.

Concluding his speech, the CDS encouraged the NCC cadets to continuously strive for excellence, maintain a spirit of perseverance, and nurture an optimistic outlook on life. The address concluded with a beautiful poem recitation by Sohan Lal Dwivedi.

During the event, the Chief of Defence Staff reviewed the ‘Guard of Honour’ presented by cadets from all three NCC Wings. This was followed by a spectacular band performance by the Newman College (Girls) Band from Kerala.

He inspected the ‘Flag Area’ curated by cadets from all 17 NCC Directorates, showcasing various social awareness themes, and was briefed about their models.

He then visited the ‘Hall of Fame’, where he learned about the NCC's history, training, and achievements. The CDS, along with other distinguished guests, enjoyed a cultural program performed by the cadets in the Pratap auditorium.
