New Delhi, March 6 (NationPress) - In a significant operation, the police have apprehended two individuals accused of snatching a mobile phone from a victim in the Nand Nagri area of northeast Delhi. The stolen device, along with the motorcycle utilized in the incident, has been successfully retrieved, according to police reports released on Friday.
The reported incident occurred on February 25 at the Nand Nagri Police Station. The victim, identified as Sameer, 25, a resident of Tulsi Niketan in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, reported that the snatching took place at approximately 2:15 a.m. near Gagan Cinema.
Sameer informed the authorities that after he parked his tempo, he was leaving the Gagan Cinema parking area when two individuals on a motorcycle approached him from behind, snatched his mobile phone, and quickly fled.
Following the victim's complaint, a case was filed under the relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), prompting an investigation.
A specialized team, led by Inspector Anand Yadav, Station House Officer of Nand Nagri police station, was assembled to locate the suspects. The team included ASI Pramod, head constables Deepak, Rohit, Gaurav, and constables Vimal and Jitendra.
During the investigation, the team analyzed the evidence and local tips to pinpoint the suspects. Acting on the gathered intelligence, police arrested one suspect named Tushar, alias Tissu, 22, residing in Harsh Vihar, Delhi.
Upon rigorous questioning, Tushar reportedly admitted to his role in the crime and named his accomplice, Vikram, 29, son of the late Jitender Kumar, also a resident of Gali No. 19 in Harsh Vihar. Vikram was subsequently taken into custody by the police.
The mobile phone taken from the victim was recovered from the suspects, and the motorcycle, with the registration number DL-5SDD-7096, believed to be used in the crime, was also confiscated.
Authorities noted that during verification, Tushar was found to have prior involvement in three criminal cases, including attempted murder, robbery, and theft. Further investigations are ongoing.
