Tiruvalla (Kerala), April 4 (NationPress) Emphasizing the significance of women's political empowerment, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday reiterated the government's dedication to the Women’s Reservation Bill, claiming that a 33 percent reservation for women in legislative bodies will soon become a reality, with implementation expected in the 2029 Lok Sabha elections.

During a large NDA rally in Tiruvalla, PM Modi announced that Parliament will discuss the Bill between April 16 and 18 and called for a united front, encouraging opposition parties to engage constructively.

Addressing fears regarding delimitation, the Prime Minister assured that no Lok Sabha seats in Kerala or Tamil Nadu would be cut, countering what he referred to as “rumours” aimed at instilling fear among voters.

Upon reaching Kochi and traveling via helicopter to Changanassery before heading to Tiruvalla, PM Modi noted the overwhelming public response along the way.

“There was no roadshow, yet the turnout surpassed expectations,” he commented, describing the spectators as creating a “human chain” along the route.

Framing women’s welfare as a central element of his administration’s initiatives, PM Modi emphasized programs designed to enhance living standards, such as housing, access to drinking water, and a proposed free cancer vaccine initiative for teenage girls.

He indicated that these initiatives would gain momentum in Kerala under a “double-engine” NDA government.

Switching focus to governance, the Prime Minister criticized the LDF and the Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF), accusing them of alternating power without delivering significant development.

Despite Kerala’s potential in sectors like tourism and the blue economy, the state remains behind, he pointed out.

He cited insufficient infrastructure, highlighting poor roads, a lack of major bridges, and shortcomings at Kottayam Medical College.

PM Modi asserted that the Centre has provided robust financial assistance to Kerala, claiming allocations are five times greater than those under previous Congress-led administrations.

Additionally, he spotlighted Rs 13,000 crore in support for farmers, including rubber producers.

Referencing rapid advancements in Christian-majority northeastern states and Goa under NDA leadership, PM Modi expressed optimism that Kerala would experience similar progress.

Highlighting issues of corruption, communalism, and rising youth migration as barriers to the state’s progress, PM Modi urged voters to reject traditional political factions, positioning the NDA as a catalyst for transformative growth rooted in inclusive governance and women-led development.
