Tirupati, Dec 26 (NationPress) The chief of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), Mohan Bhagwat, declared on Friday that science and Dharma do not conflict, emphasizing that both ultimately pursue the same truth through varied approaches.
Speaking at the Bharatiya Vigyan Sammelan, he highlighted the importance of understanding both science and Dharma.
Bhagwat suggested that the sole distinction between the two lies in their methods, as they both strive for the same ultimate objective.
“There is no conflict between science and Dharma. While methodologies may vary, the end goal remains the same - the pursuit of truth,” he stated.
He clarified that Dharma is often mistakenly viewed as religion, when in fact it represents the “scientific principles that govern creation's functionality.”
“Dharma is not merely a religion. It is the law that orchestrates the workings of creation,” he asserted, adding that no one can operate outside of it.
Bhagwat noted that historically, science has distanced itself from Dharma due to the belief that it had no relevance in scientific exploration. He argued that this belief is fundamentally flawed.
He pointed out that contemporary science is now addressing the concept of consciousness.
While science provides knowledge, he believes that Dharma instructs how to utilize this knowledge.
He expressed confidence that India will progress significantly, asserting that India has the potential to become the Viswaguru.
Commenting on the developments in advanced nations, he mentioned that progress often accompanies destruction.
“Development should not lead to a disparity between the wealthy and the impoverished,” he stated, disagreeing with the notion of maximizing benefits for the largest number.
According to Bhagwat, the vision of Dharma promotes a balanced approach to development that considers everyone.
