New Delhi, Dec 26 (NationPress) As part of its ongoing expansion journey, the Delhi Capitals Cricket Academy has made its debut in North America with the inauguration of its first academy in Canada, representing a major achievement in the franchise's expanding global presence.

Located in Mississauga, the Delhi Capitals Cricket Academy in Ontario aims to bring the franchise’s structured, high-performance training methodology to one of the world's rapidly developing cricketing regions. This launch highlights Delhi Capitals’ enduring commitment to grassroots development and its vision of creating a worldwide player pathway.

The academy is set to implement Delhi Capitals’ established coaching curriculum and technical framework, aimed at fostering young talent through structured training, performance assessment, and long-term player development. Trial sessions and talent identification initiatives are scheduled for January 2026, with comprehensive training programs set to start thereafter.

With this new facility, Delhi Capitals enhances its international academy network, following its successful establishment in the United Kingdom with the Delhi Capitals Sajid Mahmood Cricket Academy in London. The expansion into North America signifies the franchise’s second international hub, reflecting its ambition to provide access to elite coaching environments outside India.

The Ontario center enhances the Delhi Capitals Academy network, which continues to expand both in India and internationally. With high-performance centers, partnerships with schools, and international hubs, the franchise remains dedicated to accessibility, inclusivity, and excellence in cricket development.

The Delhi Capitals team competes in both the Indian Premier League (IPL) and the Women's Premier League (WPL). Co-owned by the GMR Group and the JSW Group, Delhi Capitals was founded in 2008 as Delhi Daredevils before rebranding in 2019. In 2020, the team reached its inaugural final. In 2023, Delhi Capitals was one of the five founding teams in the Women’s Premier League, finishing as runners-up in all three editions of the tournament thus far.
