Bhopal, Jan 16 (NationPress) On Friday, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav executed the transfer of the 32nd instalment of the Ladli Behna Yojana, a flagship welfare program aimed at women, initiated by the Bharatiya Janata Party in Madhya Pradesh.
The CM successfully transferred Rs 1,836 crore with just a single click into the bank accounts of over 1.25 crore eligible participants during a ceremonial gathering in Makhan Nagar, located in the Narmadapuram district.
This represents the first instalment of the Ladli Behna Yojana for the year 2026, with each qualified beneficiary (woman) set to receive Rs 1,500 directly in their accounts.
Additionally, Chief Minister Yadav transferred over Rs 90 crore to support 29 lakh beneficiaries for gas cylinder refilling through the Ujwala Yojana, launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2016. During the event, he also inaugurated and laid foundation stones for various development projects valued at over Rs 206 crore for the district.
Makhan Nagar, previously recognized as Hoshangabad, is situated alongside the Narmada River and is the birthplace of the esteemed freedom fighter, poet, and journalist, the late Pt. Makhanlal Chaturvedi. Upon his arrival, Chief Minister Yadav paid homage to Pt. Chaturvedi's statue with a floral tribute.

The scheme was initially rolled out with a monthly instalment of Rs 1,000 during the administration of former Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan (currently the Union Agriculture Minister), just prior to the 2023 Assembly elections. This amount was subsequently raised to Rs 1,250 in September 2023, with Yadav previously announcing plans to increase it to Rs 3,000 by 2028.
As per government statements, from June 2023 to December 2025, the total disbursed under the scheme amounts to Rs 48,632.70 crore. With the recent transfer of the 32nd instalment, the cumulative amount has now surpassed Rs 50,468 crore.
