MP: Ayushman Bharat Yojana Brings Joy to Patients and Their Families in Shahdol

Bhopal, Dec 24 (NationPress) The Ayushman Bharat Yojana has played an instrumental role in reducing the distress and hardships endured by those suffering from health conditions, as well as assisting economically disadvantaged families in covering their healthcare expenses.
Launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2018, this initiative has provided numerous low-income families with access to superior medical care at private healthcare facilities.
In Madhya Pradesh’s Shahdol, several beneficiaries have greatly benefited from this program and openly commend the Prime Minister for this groundbreaking effort.
Vinay Pandey, a resident of Channaudi tehsil in the Jaitpur region of Shahdol, shared his harrowing experience with kidney failure and the challenges of obtaining dialysis treatment in his locality since the program's inception.
He mentioned that he has been undergoing dialysis for a decade due to kidney failure. Due to the absence of a dialysis center in Shahdol, he had to travel to Jabalpur for his treatments, which took a toll on him both physically and mentally, compounded by financial difficulties.
Upon learning about the Ayushman Bharat scheme, he applied and received his health card. Now, he can receive dialysis regularly at the Shahdol District Hospital, saving both money and time. He is grateful for the complimentary dialysis services provided at the facility.
“For the last five years, I have been receiving treatment here and consultations with excellent doctors, for which I am immensely thankful to the Modi government,” he expressed.
Amit Gupta, another local resident of Shahdol, is also reaping the benefits of the Ayushman Bharat initiative. Living in Dhanpuri, he has been receiving dialysis since 2017 due to kidney failure.
Coming from a middle-class background, he was unable to afford the monthly expenses of ₹20,000 to ₹25,000 at a private hospital.
Once he learned about the complimentary dialysis services available at the Shahdol District Hospital through the Ayushman Bharat scheme, he was relieved to access treatment closer to home.
The Chief Medical Officer of Shahdol District Hospital, Dr. Rajesh Mishra, stated that under the Ayushman Bharat program, kidney patients receive dialysis services at no cost.
He noted, “Currently, there are 57 beneficiaries who consistently utilize the dialysis services, and nearly 700,000 cards have been issued under this scheme, allowing approximately 46,000 patients to receive treatment.”
Additionally, he mentioned that the dialysis services have been extended to nighttime to accommodate patients traveling from remote areas.
