The Madhya Pradesh Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, on Tuesday, 15 September 2026, approved development schemes worth approximately ₹42,490 crore, targeting infrastructure upgrades and public welfare across the state. Minister of State for Public Health Department Narendra Shivaji Patel briefed reporters on the key decisions following the meeting in Bhopal.

Key Approvals Across Sectors

The Cabinet sanctioned over ₹6,000 crore to sustain the 'Samagra Shiksha' (holistic education) scheme, which funds foundational and secondary education programmes statewide. The Transport Department received clearance for ₹1,166 crore across 11 schemes, while the Horticulture Department was allocated ₹491 crore for eight schemes.

Major irrigation projects worth approximately ₹13,000 crore also received continuation approvals — including the Chanderi micro project in Ashoknagar, the Gond major irrigation project in Singrauli, and the 'Chetavat' major irrigation project in Ujjain. New posts were sanctioned for district mineral offices in the newly formed districts of Maihar, Mauganj, and Pandhurna, aimed at generating government employment for the state's youth. Additional posts were approved linked to school upgrades across the state.

Bus Service Revival and Rural Transport Expansion

The Cabinet cleared the launch of the 'Mukhyamantri Sugam Parivahan Bus Seva' (Chief Minister's Accessible Transport Bus Service) on 25 September 2026, timed with the birth anniversary of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay. The service revives a state bus network that had reportedly remained stalled for 21 years.

The initiative will develop approximately 150 city routes, 450 inter-city routes, and 436 inter-state routes. A target has been set to connect 75% of development blocks with transport services by 2030, with a stated emphasis on rural connectivity.

SVAMITVA Scheme Rollout and Rural Property Rights

From 17 September 2026 — the birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi — the Madhya Pradesh government will begin executing and registering ownership rights records for rural citizens under the Union government's SVAMITVA scheme, with an estimated outlay of ₹4,000 crore. Rural beneficiaries will be fully exempted from stamp duty and registration fees.

According to officials, nearly 68 lakh records have already been prepared, and free registration is planned for approximately 50 lakh private properties. The scheme is expected to ease access to bank credit, reduce property disputes, and bolster self-employment in rural Madhya Pradesh. Special camps will be organised at the Panchayat level to facilitate the process.

Dubai Visit Yields ₹53,000 Crore in Investment Pledges

Patel also disclosed that Chief Minister Mohan Yadav's recent visit to Dubai resulted in investment commitments exceeding ₹53,000 crore. Yadav held discussions with more than 200 industrialists, investors, and entrepreneurs and invited representatives from 22 countries for the Global Investors Summit scheduled in 2027.

Sports Recognition, E-Scooty Scheme, and Rail Link

The Cabinet formally congratulated Indian sports teams for recent achievements: the women's cricket team for winning the Asia Cup, the junior women's hockey team for defeating China, and the junior men's hockey team for defeating Korea — with players from Madhya Pradesh featuring in each squad.

On 19 September, Chief Minister Yadav will distribute e-scooters to more than 7,500 meritorious Class 12 students under the Chief Minister E-Scooty Scheme. Over 23,000 students have already benefited from the scheme, on which the government has reportedly spent approximately ₹50 crore.

The Cabinet also acknowledged the inauguration of the rail section between Jobat and Tada Road under the Udaipur–Chhota Udepur–Dhar project, which has established a direct rail link between Dhar district and Gujarat. With multiple scheme launches imminent, the coming weeks will test the Yadav administration's capacity to convert cabinet clearances into ground-level delivery.
