Bhopal, May 20 (NationPress) The Madhya Pradesh cabinet is set to convene a special meeting on Tuesday at the historic Rajwada Palace in Indore, marking the celebration of the 300th birth anniversary of Devi Ahilyabai Holkar. Yet, there remains a cloud of uncertainty regarding the attendance of Minister Vijay Shah.

Shah, who recently referred to Colonel Sofiya Qureshi as the 'sister of terrorists', has been largely absent from public view since the MP Police initiated legal proceedings against him on May 14.

This BJP leader is facing charges under Sections 152 (Acts endangering the sovereignty, unity and integrity of India), 196 (1)(b) (promoting enmity between different groups based on religion, race, language, or similar attributes), and 197(1)(c).

The opposition party, Congress, has resolved to contest Shah's participation in Tuesday's meeting, claiming that his presence would be an insult to Devi Ahilyabai.

Consequently, attention is focused on whether Shah will make an appearance at the Rajwada Palace alongside his cabinet colleagues for this pivotal meeting.

Even if he chooses to attend, the MP Police are unlikely to detain him, as the Supreme Court issued a stay on his arrest on Monday and instructed the state Director General of Police (DGP) to establish a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to look into the case.

In compliance with the SC's directive, DGP Kailash Makwana formed a three-member SIT late Monday.

The SIT consists of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sagar Zone Pramod Verma; Deputy Inspector General Kalyan Chakravarty; and Superintendent of Police Vahini Singh, who also serves as a Special Armed Forces officer in Dindori.

Senior IPS officer Pramod Verma is currently the Inspector General (IG) for the Sagar range, Kalyan Chakravarty is the DIG for SAF in Bhopal, and Vahini Singh is an SP in Dindori.

On May 12, MP Tribal Affairs Minister Vijay Shah allegedly labeled Colonel Qureshi a 'sister of terrorists' during a public address concerning Indian Army operations against Pakistan.

His actions and the ensuing legal scrutiny not only reflect on his leadership but also resonate with the larger political dynamics in the state. The cabinet meeting's significance, commemorating Devi Ahilyabai Holkar, adds depth to this narrative, making it essential for us to observe closely.
