Bhopal, June 18 (NationPress) The government of Madhya Pradesh is set to initiate helicopter services for tourists visiting its key destinations, similar to the model in Uttarakhand, as announced by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Wednesday.

The helicopter services will be rolled out under a Public Private Partnership (PPP) framework, targeting the hilly tourist spots in the state. The government anticipates that these services will draw a greater influx of foreign tourists to Madhya Pradesh. Currently, a tender for helicopter services in Madhya Pradesh tourism is open for bids.

Particularly, the Madhya Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation (MPSTDC) is looking for operators to provide helicopter services in areas such as Bhopal, Pachmarhi, Sanchi, and more. "Madhya Pradesh has seen an extraordinary increase in tourist numbers, especially among foreign visitors, in recent years. We have now decided to introduce helicopter services like those in Uttarakhand. The tendering process for this initiative is in progress," Yadav stated.

The Chief Minister shared this update during an event organized by the Madhya Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation (MPSTDC) at the Kushabhau Thakre Convention Centre in Bhopal on Wednesday.

In a related note, Chief Minister Yadav praised the Madhya Pradesh State Tourism Board (MPSTB) for the effective operation of inter-state air services under the 'PM Shri Paryatan Vayu Seva'.

It is noteworthy that the intra-state air service aimed at promoting tourism under 'PM Shri Paryatan Vayu Seva' was launched in June 2024, with the inaugural flight commencing from Bhopal to Jabalpur.
