The suspect, identified as 32-year-old Deep Shubham, originates from Chorout, located in Bihar's Sitamarhi district, as stated by DCP (Crime), Delhi, Harsh Indoora.
Following a tip-off regarding Shubham's expected arrival in Hari Nagar, a police team implemented technical surveillance and set a trap, successfully capturing the accused.
Notably, Shubham was raised by his grandmother, affectionately known as 'Nani.' He relocated to Delhi in 2009, achieving a degree in B.Sc. (Hons.) Chemistry from Kirori Mal College, followed by an M.Sc. and M.Phil in Chemistry from Delhi University. He later cleared the CLAT exam to enroll in LLB at Damodaram Sanjeevaya National Law University in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh.
After a year, he abandoned his LLB studies and returned to Delhi, enrolling in an MA in English at KMC, DU. He subsequently worked at a Genpact Call Centre for two years. However, Shubham faced ongoing financial challenges due to a lack of family support, as noted in the statement.
In 2017, he executed a robbery at the Bank of India in Purpi village, Bihar's Sitamarhi district, using a smoke bomb he crafted with firecrackers and a mixture of Methyl acetate and Benzine.
Shubham was arrested by the Bihar Police in connection with this case in Burari. During his incarceration in Sitamarhi, he encountered Ritesh Thakur, another criminal. After his release, Shubham reunited with Thakur in Delhi, where both engaged in robberies in Model Town.
The police apprehended both individuals, but Shubham was later released on bail.
Following his bail from the Model Town cases, the accused evaded law enforcement by frequently changing locations. At the time of his latest arrest, he was employed as an interior designer at a firm called Glossy Gaze in Sohna, Haryana, according to police statements.
Shubham has two robbery cases registered against him at the Model Town Police Station. On September 17, 2021, he committed a robbery at gunpoint, making off with Rs 6,06,000.

Out of fear, the complainant handed over Rs 70,000 from the counter before Shubham fled, brandishing his weapon.
