As per a statement issued by the police, “On the night between 13/14.10.25, a robbery incident was reported at PS Seelampur. The victim, Ashraf (50 years), S/o Mehar, residing in JMC Welcome, stated that after midnight, while he was charging his mini tempo at a Charging Hub near Welcome Metro Station, he was robbed of his mobile phone by three individuals on a scooty.”
In response to the complaint, a case was registered under Sections 309(6)/3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at Police Station Seelampur, prompting a thorough investigation.
A specialized team led by Inspector Pankaj Kumar, SHO/PS Seelampur, developed significant leads and successfully traced one of the suspects. The arrested individual was identified as Dinesh (23 years), S/o Kallu, residing in Kishan Colony, Prahladpur, Bangar, Delhi. During the search, police recovered the stolen mobile phone from his possession.
Upon interrogation, Dinesh disclosed that he had acquired the stolen phone from an acquaintance. Following this information, police conducted a raid and arrested Paras (29 years), S/o Kanhaiya Lal, residing in Jheel Khuranja, Geeta Colony, Delhi. The team also recovered the scooty (No. DL-5SDA-1878) that was involved in the robbery.
Authorities stated, “During thorough interrogation, both suspects confessed to their involvement in the robbery. It was confirmed that Paras has a previous criminal history, having been involved in three cases, including theft and violations of the Arms Act.”
