New Delhi, Sep 11 (NationPress) In a remarkable turn of events, the Delhi Police successfully cracked a blind robbery case in just 48 hours, apprehending three suspects: Manish, Anil alias Tinday, and Anil alias Gathiya, all hailing from Sanjay Colony, Bhati Mines. The authorities managed to recover the stolen mobile phone along with the auto-rickshaw utilized during the crime.
As per a press statement from the South West District Police, the robbery occurred on the night of September 6. The victim, Rajesh Kumar, reported that he was attacked around 11:00 p.m. while en route to his workplace at DTDC Express Limited in Samalkha, with the assailants escaping in an auto.
Following a PCR alert on September 7, the investigation was assigned to Sub Inspector Shrikant of the Vasant Kunj South Police Station. He and his team promptly visited the crime scene to document the victim's account. Consequently, an FIR (No. 367/25) was registered under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), initiating a thorough investigation.
A specialized team was assembled under the close watch of the ACP of Vasant Kunj and the SHO of Vasant Kunj South. The unit diligently scrutinized CCTV footage from the vicinity, which yielded vital leads. Utilizing a blend of technical surveillance and grassroots intelligence, investigators traced the auto linked to the incident.
The breakthrough arrived when the driver, identified as Manish, was found and taken into custody. During an intensive interrogation, he admitted his involvement and identified his accomplices, Anil alias Tinday and Anil alias Gathiya, who also reside in the same neighborhood.
Following this, coordinated raids led to the capture of both co-conspirators. The stolen Vivo mobile phone was recovered from Anil alias Gathiya, who, according to police records, had a history of involvement in another case (FIR No. 157/24 under sections 356/379/411/34 IPC at Maidan Garhi Police Station), noted Amit Goel, the Deputy Commissioner of Police for the South West District.
